6.jpgAbout the Artist

Since she could remember, color and shape ruled her visual world. Throughout her education, Shelly became involved in everything art related, both visual, and written. For a large part of her career, the chemistry of color held dominance, and often times, trichology was her medium- the spectrum created by unusual pigments, but always driven by basic color theory.

Moving from medium to medium, Shelly has settled on Giclee on canvas, with the exploration of depth and light now the primary focus, along with the play of color blending, sometimes in startling ways.

From Shelly

"Color? Check. Movement? Of course. Shapes and designs that draw you back constantly to see something new? Absolutely.

Since 1976 (my first art class) I have loved the motion of color blending, and the way light plays on different shades and tones. I got in trouble in that class, because I wanted a purple pond instead of blue, and blended the gold grass way past the line of delineation. Oh, well, on to my vision, I thought. Color and chemistry are hand in hand, and now, with the aid of digital enhancement, a rainbow is even somewhat limited in my opinion.

My latest pieces start as digital paintings with a graphics tablet, then move via print to canvas, where I then overlay layers of texture and further embellishment, such as gold leaf, or copper glints. You will love these additions to your home or office almost as much as I loved creating them!

All works will be available in limited edition form, and no 2 will be the same. Prints are also available.
